Short Dick Man
"Short Dick Man" is a 1994 song recorded by band 20 Fingers, featuring Gillette. It was its debut single from its album 20 Fingers, released from August 31, 1994 (October 3 in France). It achieved a great success in many countries, particularly in France where it was a number-one hit, and reached the top ten in other countries such as Austria, Belgium, New Zealand and Australia.
Song information
This single, which, as the title suggests it, deals with the size of the penis, was deemed as provocative at the time and thus was recorded in a toned down version removing the word "dick" (the song was also released under the censored title "Short Short Man").[1] For example, in 1995, the song was re-released in the UK in its new version and remixed by Strike. It reached number 11 while the original only reached number 21 in 1994. It was also a massive club hit in the U.S. Several remixes, known as the "Italian remixes," were added some time after the first release. The song is delivered from the perspective of a woman who rejects sexual contact with men who have small penises. In the music video, images of Gillette singing "Short Dick Man" on a beach alternate with those of a brawny man performing a photo session.
In 2007, the song was covered by Laurent Wolf, featuring Marilyn David. This 3:35 version is available on several compilations, such as Été 2007[2] and Contact Play & Dance vol. 4.[3]
